Alberto Maleci
Title of Dottore di Ricerca (the italian equivalent of Philosophy Doctor), discussing a thesis on immune responses of glioma bearing patients. Part of the work was prepared at the Albert Einstein College of New York.

Chairman of Neurosurgery at the Cagliari University.
At the moment his main activity was in the field of brain tumors until 1994 and then switched to spine surgery after that period, even if he still performs brain surgery.
His scientific production consists of about 40 papers on indexed journals covering almost all the fields of neurosurgery and about 100 partecipations to meetings as speaker or chairman. His clinical practice consists in about 5,000 operations; 4,000 of these are surgeries on spine.

Richard D. Guyer

Since 1983, Dr. Guyer has been in practice with the Texas Back Institute based in Plano. He has been active in research and publishing for many years and presents results of this work at various national and international spine conferences. The majority of the research work has dealt with the diagnosis and treatment of painful degenerative spinal conditions. In recent years, he has been working with dynamic spine stabilization devices including artificial discs for the lumbar and cervical spine regions. In addition to currently serving as President of TBI, Dr. Guyer has been Director of the Spine Surgery Fellowship program since its inception in 1986.
